Camden County Art Teachers' Favorite Special Needs Art Activities
I’m mainly interested in art projects for middle and high school students with special needs:
Easy Water Color Project for Fall or Spring
-uses stencils that student or teacher can create
-watercolor background
-overlap stencils
-allow colors to blend
-adaptable to many grade and ability levels

Paper Pulp Painting
-I use used copy paper which is a better quality paper
-I like the idea of using a dryer pulp and adding sharpie marker after the pulp is dry
-Adaptable to many grade and ability levels

Sculptural Painting
-abstract painted shapes that are cut and assembled
-It would look good raised on a black construction paper background
-Adaptable to many grade and ability levels

Corrugated Cardboard Relief Prints
-Uses the exposed flutes of corrugated cardboard to print an Op Art design.
-The planning stage of black crayon rubbings could be a final stage. The rubbings need not be done in black. You could use the squares to create rubbings, cut shapes from the rubbings and collage the final product.
-Adaptable to many grade and ability levels.

2D & #D Name Design
-Uses names raised above a design background and suggests connecting background design to meaning of the students name.
-I would use letters cut out of paste papers or possibly another use of recycled hand made paper.
-Adaptable to many grade and ability levels.
